Trainee Programme
We at SENATOR LINES are dedicated to training young people every year.
We not only offer apprenticeships in shipping (for the qualification of “shipping merchant”), we also enable our trainees to take an additional “dual-qualification degree”: after passing through this particular dual-training system, the trainees graduate from an academic course (Commercial Certificate in Shipping and Industrial Economics) at the Bremen Institute of Trade & Transport (BIHV, Bremer Institut für Handel und Verkehr), in addition to the “classical” apprenticeship.
Even though this “two-track route” is not a “must” for our trainees, the dual qualification enables them to better meet the challenges of young professionals in tomorrow’s shipping industry and contributes to the eXcellent service of SENATOR LINES.
The entry requirements for the apprenticeship and academic course are your A Levels (Abitur). The dual-qualification degree takes 3 years; 50% of the costs are covered by the company.
