Korean lines to join Far East/Middle East service

Korean lines STX-Panocean and Sinokor are set to join the new Hanjin/Senator Far East/Middle East service, known as the FMS service (See PR News Service, Copy 5258, October 16th)

The FMS service will initially deploy three vessels around 2,000 teu capacity, running on a fortnightly schedule, but the plan is to upgrade to weekly frequency, probably during late December, early January 2008.

STX-Pan Ocean is expected to deploy one of the vessels from January 2008, with Hanjin providing the other four. Senator and Sinokor will take slots on the service.

The first westbound sailing will be made from Pusan by the 2,000 teu Hanjin Port Adelaide on November 10th, and the return eastbound leg will be made on November 26th from Khor Fakkan.
