Senator Lines joins China North Express

Senator Lines will join the new China North Express (CNX) recently launched by Hanjin Shipping and UASC.

The first westbound sailing departs from Qingdao on November 20th, and the first eastbound voyage will leave Hamburg on December 25th. The full port rotation will be: Qingdao > Shanghai > Hong Kong > Singapore > Jeddah > Hamburg > Antwerp > Le Havre > Jeddah > Singapore > Qingdao.

The new CNX service features a direct connection between Hong Kong and Northern Europe, which strengthens Senator Lines’ position in the South China-North West Continent trade.

This news follows just one week after Senator Lines announced its new Far East-Middle East service (FMS). With the CNX service, the Bremen-based container shipping line has expanded its portfolio to fourteen services.

According to JM Koo, general manager of Senator Lines’ lines management, the CNX services adds a different port rotation to the carrier’s portfolio while providing an additional link in the scope of the growing Asia-North Europe trade.

“After the launch of the additional FMS service, providing a link between the strong-growth markets of the Far and Middle East, the upgrade of our Asia-Northern Europe trade line was the logical next step, thereby adjusting our shipping capacity to the growing cargo volumes in this trade,” said Koo.
