Senator Lines boosts Shanghai-Valencia capacity on the MEX service
GERMANY's Senator Lines plans to raise the capacity of its Mediterranean Express Service (MEX) that links the western Mediterranean region with the Middle East and Asia, starting from mid-May. The first vessel sailing on the upgraded service will be undertaken by the MOL Express, which is scheduled to depart from Shanghai on May 20 on its westbound voyage to the Mediterranean.

Die SENATOR LINES GmbH steigert ab Mitte Mai ihre Kapazität auf dem Mediterranean Express Service MEX, der das westliche Mittelmeer mit dem mittleren Osten und Asien verbindet. Das erste Schiff mit der erhöhten Stellplatzkapazität der deutschen Container-Reederei ist die MOL Express, die am 20. Mai zu ihrer westgehenden Reise von Shanghai ins Mittelmeer ausläuft.

Montreal Senator to begin sailing in May - Senator Lines to introduce new vessel on Med-Canada service
Senator Lines says it will phase in a new vessel on its two-sling Mediterranean-Canada service. The recently chartered Montreal Senator will replace the Canada Senator currently running on the service, which links Mediterranean ports with Montreal. The phasing-in of the 2,130-TEU Montreal Senator will take place on May 21 at the Port of Gioia Tauro in Italy. The 2,017-TEU Canada Senator, which has been sailing on the Mediterranean-Canada service since April 2001, will then be phased out.

SENATOR LINES: Die Nische als Erfolgsfaktor
Die Schifffahrtsbranche verzeichnete in diesem Jahr sicherlich ein bewegtes erstes Quartal, was neue Entwicklungen in der Branche angeht, wenn man beispielsweise auf Maersk oder auch das deutsche Traditionsunternahmen Hapag Lloyd schaut, aber auch ein verhaltenes, wenn man die allgemeine Ratenentwicklung und Auslastungszahlen der Schiffe betrachtet. Die Bremer Reederei SENATOR LINES blickt jedoch zufrieden auf ein erfolgreiches erstes Quartal 2008 zurück und konnte eine im Markt überdurchschnittliche Auslastung aufweisen und damit die gesteckten Erwartungen nach einem profitablen und erfolgreichen Geschäftsjahr 2007 erfüllen.
