Senator Lines boosts Shanghai-Valencia capacity on the MEX service

GERMANY's Senator Lines plans to raise the capacity of its Mediterranean Express Service (MEX) that links the western Mediterranean region with the Middle East and Asia, starting from mid-May.

The first vessel sailing on the upgraded service will be undertaken by the MOL Express, which is scheduled to depart from Shanghai on May 20 on its westbound voyage to the Mediterranean.

"With the increase of our capacity on the MEX service, we can match the shipping allocation with the high demand and cargo volumes," said Senator Lines CEO Hans-Hermann Mohr. "With a growth of more than 20 per cent of the Mediterranean-Asia trade lanes last year, we believe that this is the right strategy to react to the market and to further increase our market share."

The port rotation for the weekly MEX service is: Genoa, Fos sur Mer, Valencia, Gioia Tauro, Jeddah, Khorfakkan, Singapore, Shanghai, Yantian, Singapore and returning to Genoa.
